How the magic is done

Every trick in the order you meet it on the ride. Each one has a working model you can take apart yourself, and every explanation is labeled by how sure we are.

How accurate is this?

Every piece of the model is marked by where it came from, so you always know what's surveyed and what's our best interpretation.

Surveyed

  • The mountain’s shape: the USGS 2011 LiDAR surface, one sample per meter
  • The footprint, lagoons, monorail beams and railroad from OpenStreetMap
  • Every tree around it, from the same laser scan

Estimated

  • The forced-perspective trees on the slopes (placed by us, sized by height)
  • Where the Skyway cable ran and where its holes are

Fan-surveyed & interpreted

  • Both bobsled tracks: built to the published 80 ft lift and track lengths, inside the real footprint, but not the real track plan
  • Scene zones, the Snowman’s spots and the hoop’s location
